sweet 35mm goodness in the rain

those who follow my blog or know me personally know i'm kinda in love with my lensbaby.

the mailman finally made it to my apartment through the rain

with my birthday present from my wonderful parents.

my new sweet 35 optic.

and i thought i couldn't possibly fall more in love.

surprise birthday party/camp out

i came home the other day to a clue from my husband on my front door. 

i followed the clues all over rexburg giddy outside my mind.

i ended up at this gorgeous place with a pavilion all decked out in gold decorations, 3 gold cakes, and all my friends waiting for me.

its my "golden birthday". (22 on the 22nd if any of you dont know what that is.)

and i was totally surprised which never happens.

my husband did so good.

he also brought all our stuff to camp out there.

we slept in our squareback and cooked breakfast over the fire in the morning.

while we were laying in the squareback we could hear the light sprinkling of rain 

and see the stars out of our back window. 

so dreamy. 

hands down best birthday ever.

he made these. how freaking cute is that??

spring spring spring

spring means no snow coats or frozen tears running down my face while walking to class.

spring means lots of picture taking and crazy awesome adventures.

spring means open doors and windows with the sound of birds chirping outside.

spring means eating snow cones and a 5 dollar hot and ready at the park.

spring means my birthday and the new revis album release.

spring means a very happy me.

i scored

there has been an empty box of oreos in our kitchen for a few days now.

i didn't want to come to terms with them being gone so i didn't throw it away.

but then i realized how ridiculous that was and decided to go through with it.

but then!! (this is where it gets good.)

there were THREE oreos left in it!

my husband saved them for ME!

seriously.. whatta guy!

oreos might not be a big deal to you.. 

but oh man this made my day.

that right there people..

i got what every girl wants.. to have her best friend marry into her family.

mallory married my cousin matt a couple months ago and it's AWESOME!

i mean who wouldn't want their best friend part of their eternal family?

chanel no.5

christmas, mother's day, her children's weddings, her mother's birthday...are special moments for my mom. these are the days she wears chanel #5. this classic scent was a favorite of her mother's. the bottle she has is actually quite old...14 years to be exact. she gave it to her mother for her birthday...3 months before she passed away. she wears this perfume whenever she wants to feel her especially close by. 

my mom tried so hard to find me the perfect perfume for my wedding 

so i would always have something that reminded me of that wonderful day.

she finally decided on chanel #5.

it couldn't have been a more perfect pick.

so now every time i want to feel my mom close, i wear chanel #5.

it always reminds me of my mother's love for me 

and how she gave me the best life she could.

it reminds me that i always have someone whos got my back 

and someone who will always be proud of me.

it reminds me that i have an eternal family that i will have forever. 

so in honor of the greatest mom ever, i'm wearing chanel #5 today.
